When I try to import a part in Altium, I don't see any importers. The import guide says I can use P-CAD, how do I add it to the import wizard?

Hi gokai_silver12,
When you go to File > Import Wizard > Next, you'll see the 'Get More Importers...' link in the lower left corner.
Once you click on it, it'll take you to the Extensions & Updates section. Click on 'configure' near the top right. Scroll down to Importers/Exporters section and make sure P-CAD is checked, scroll to the top and click Apply.
Now the P-Cad option should appear in the Import Wizard.

Hi there,
If you're using Altium version 13.0 or older, you can download this plugin to add the PCAD importer: https://designcontent.live.altium.com/PluginDetail/Importer_PCADASCII
If your version is 14.0+, you can install this plugin in the 'Extensions & Updates' section in Altium Designer
Hope this helps.

Hi! It was not necessary reinstall Altium in my case. I installed with daemon tools from virtual F so that was my directory that Altium could not find. I just loaded the virtual image again without reinstallation and it works.
I suppose that in the general case, insert the CD it's ok, or reinstall it if not.
