Do you have data of the emitting diode VSLY5940 to model it with a raytracing tool like Zemax?
Thanks for the feedback

Hello D_blazquez,
Thank you for reaching out to SnapMagic.
Modeling the VSLY5940 infrared emitting diode in Zemax requires ray data files, which aren't readily available. While ECAD models and datasheets exist, they often lack the detailed optical emission profiles needed for ray tracing.
Without manufacturer-provided ray data, you can approximate the VSLY5940's emission in Zemax using its angular intensity profile from the datasheet. With a ±3° emission angle, it produces a focused beam. In Zemax's non-sequential mode, use the "Source Diode" object to define its emission, adjusting divergence angles and super-Gaussian factors to match the profile. For greater accuracy, consider contacting Vishay to request detailed optical emission data or ray files here: https://www.vishay.com/en/product/84240/
Additionally, SnapMagic provides CAD models, including schematic symbols, PCB footprints and 3D models, for components like the VSLY5940. You can download these models from our platform to assist with your design process: https://www.snapeda.com/parts/VSLY5940/Vishay/view-part/
I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.
